Your Mindset Is Everything!

I’m sharing this because I bet this happens to many people so I feel the need to share this. I found myself for a couple of days in a funk. Don’t ask me why. All I know is that I found myself feeling down and I was wondering why. Then I found myself feeling physically tired. Then I found myself thinking about “oh how I don’t have this yet”, “oh how this hasn’t happened yet”. I had to come to a point where I had to stop and ask myself why. Then I came to the conclusion that I always knew all along…your mindset is EVERYTHING!

Sure life will sometimes throw things along the way that are not pleasant. Sometimes the things that happen to you can be disappointing and can throw you off but at the end of the day, it is your mindset that truly determines your response and view of the situation. When you focus on what you don’t have or what hasn’t occurred yet, of course you are going to feel bad. And it will just keep going down hill from there. It is to your benefit to get out of that mental state as fast as you can.

Too much thinking and over analyzing what has happened, what didn’t happened, if something will happen, can get you into so much trouble mentally, emotionally and physically. I include the physical because the mind, body and soul are all connected. Although it may be normal to be concerned about certain things but too much worrying about things and being overly concern can get you into a train of thought that will take you to the city of destruction.

What does your mindset have to do with your well-being and with life in general? Everything! Without the proper mindset, you can’t move ahead in life the way you want to move ahead. Without the proper mindset, you can’t be armed with the proper tools to face an unpleasant situation or even a pleasant one for that matter. Without the right mindset, you can’t make the right decisions. You reflect who you are and what you think.

I would like to clarify that it is normal and only human to have your down days. We are after all emotional beings. The key is to not remain for so long in that funk that you are in and realize that your mindset is everything.

When you are in a funk, it is the perfect time to make a list of all the things that you have that are good in your life. Think about all the things you have for which to be grateful. It’s also very important to know that you still have so much good to look forward to. I think many of us forget that at times.

Your mindset is a critical element to your well-being and to having the life that you want. For this reason, it is important to check-in with yourself from time to time and know where you are mentally. And if you are in a funk, now is perfect time to think of all your blessings.

How You May Unknowingly Be Stepping Away From Your Power

Sometimes we do things we don’t realize that hurt us. We all want happiness, there is no denying of that but we sometimes unknowingly make ourselves unhappy. Being unhappy takes away from your well-being. Part of happiness is knowing and stepping into your power and it is because of this that I would like to write about how you may unknowingly be stepping away from your power.

You unknowingly step away from your power when you hold on to things, situations, people, relationships, etc. that don’t serve you or don’t make you happy. I know how hard it can be to let go, trust me I do. I have held on to people and situations for way too long that didn’t serve me at all. If anything, holding on to those people and situations were just a waste of my time and it made me feel worse and worse with time. So do yourself a favor and let go NOW of the things that no longer serve you. It is important to trust that things are still working out for your favor no matter what.

You unknowingly step away from your power when you are not honest with yourself. I believe I wrote a post on the importance of being honest with yourself even if it hurts. Being honest liberates you. It’s best to feel bad now for a little bit than feel really bad down the road because you were not honest with yourself. Honesty can be one of the hardest things to do but it is a must if you are to grow in well-being. It will liberate you from things and situations you don’t need in your life.

You unknowingly step away from your power when you are not grateful for what you have at this very moment. I don’t know how to describe it but there is something so soothing about thanking God, the universe, whatever you believe in, for all that you currently have. There is emotional and mental power in you being grateful for all you have right now. It brings joy, it brings peace and you will feel loved when you live in gratitude.

You unknowingly step away from your power when you focus on the things that go wrong instead of all the things that are right with your life. Your focus is everything. Your focus determines your energy, your perspective, your emotions, your current physical state since mind influences the way the body will be, etc. Focus on what’s right and more right things will come to you. If this doesn’t come easy, just take baby steps. Catch yourself when you focus on the negative things and change it to positive things.

You unknowingly step away from your power when your self-talk is negative. It’s important to learn to be your own cheerleader. Not all the time will those who usually cheer you up be there when you need them. This is why you need to learn to be your own cheerleader and you do this through your self-talk. If your vocabulary consists of negative words and phrases, this needs to be changed if you are to change your life. Be mindful of the words you use and be mindful of the energy behind those words. The energy, too, matters a lot.

This post would be very long if I were to list more ways that you may unknowingly step away from your power but pay attention to one key indicator that doesn’t lie and it is your emotions. If your emotions are negative emotions, pay attention to how you may have unknowingly stepped away from your power. Your emotions don’t lie. Start now to step into your power. Doing this will add greatly to your well-being.

What Do You Think/Feel You Deserve?

Today I would like to write about deserving and what does it take to be deserving of anything. I’m going to start off by asking you, what do you think/feel you deserve? That’s right, this is this week’s question and I ask you to take a deep look within to know your answer.

The reason why it is important to know what you think and feel you deserve is because this has a strong correlation with your overall well-being. How so? Whatever you feel or think you deserve is what you will get. So if you think and feel that all you deserve is mistreatment from others, then guess what, that’s exactly what you will get. If instead you know, think and feel that you deserve love and respect, you will get just that. Your overall well-being whether you realize it or not, is a reflection of what you think and feel you deserve. When you know you deserve better, you don’t accept anything less. This is why the topic of deserving can not be left out when it comes to your well-being.

So with all this said, what does it take to be deserving of anything? It is your birthright to be loved, receive love, give love, be healthy, be happy, be wealthy, etc. So it is not a matter of whether there is something that you must be in order to be deserving but it does take you believing with your heart and mind that you are deserving of anything that you want. The most important element here is YOU. This whole act of deserving has nothing to do with your parents, with your friends, with what others think and all to do with how you think and feel about yourself. If you don’t feel deserving, it is important that you work on your self-concept and self-esteem. There is no way around it. This is necessary work for your overall well-being.

Deserving or not deserving….that may seem to be the question but that question is only in your head because you were and always will be deserving of the things that you want. It is a matter of what you think/feel you deserve. So with this, I encourage to start knowing with your mind and heart that you are deserving of all that you want and need.
